Best Mother's Day Gifts in 2023

Before I dive into the best gifts for Mom this year, I have something to share.

Earlier, I sat down with my kids, watching an episode of Elephants from the Discovery Channel. A few comments about our relationships as mothers and the need for connection caught my attention as we watched. This calf was asking to suckle on Mom, but Mom was not cooperating, so an allomother stepped in to provide comfort. Though the calf wasn't satisfied and returned to Mom, it finally satisfied its milk craving.

Allmothers are elephant versions of a Nanny, Aunt, or Grandma; elephants need large families.

This is so cool to see the largest land mammal on Earth have the same relationships we do! 🤯
